Daniel N. Daisak

Mr. Daisak is a Senior Principal with the firm. Mr. Daisak focuses his practice on patent and trademark procurement and enforcement, licensing and monetization of IP assets as well as all aspects of intellectual property due diligence of mergers, acquisitions and divestitures.

Mr. Daisak has argued before the Board of Patent Appeals and has prepared/prosecuted hundreds of patent applications in various technology areas including: fiber optic communication systems; optical components and devices including semiconductor lasers, filters, amplifiers and photonic integrated circuits; ion implanters and plasma doping tools, wireless communication devices and systems; business analytics software; data communications; computer architecture; medical devices and applications; adhesive materials and products; industrial control systems and software applications; and various electronic/mechanical devices.

Mr. Daisak has conducted all phases of intellectual property due diligence for companies and IP asset purchases ranging in size from $5 million to $2 billion. Mr. Daisak is regularly called upon to prepare patent non-infringement/validity opinions and negotiate and draft various types of intellectual property related contracts. He also conducts intellectual property portfolio audits and initiates licensing and enforcement programs. Prior to joining Kacvinsky Daisak, Mr. Daisak was a partner at Duane Morris LLP for more than two years. Before Duane Morris, Dan was the Chief Patent and Trademark Counsel for several divisions of Tyco International for more than nine years where he was responsible for all aspects of IP portfolio management and procurement. He was also a member of Tyco's IP Leadership Team. Mr. Daisak was also in private practice in Washington, D.C. at Howrey and Simon focusing on ITC litigation related to semiconductor memory devices. Before entering the practice of law, Mr. Daisak was an engineer for five years with experience in radar and software system design.

Mr. Daisak is a 1994 graduate of Franklin Pierce Law Center and a 1986 graduate of Syracuse University with a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering.

Mr. Daisak is a member of the New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Washington, DC, Bars. He is also registered to practice before the United States Patent & Trademark Office and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
