Ronnen A. Roy is an Associate with the firm. Mr. Roy practices a range of patent counseling services, with an emphasis on preparing and prosecuting patent applications before the United States Patent & Trademark Office. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Roy worked as a law clerk and as an associate at law firms in the Washington, D.C. area, where he represented clients in a variety of activities, including preparing and prosecuting patent applications, assisting in multiple phases of patent litigation, preparing patent licenses, and advising clients regarding product infringement and claim invalidity.
Prior to his legal career, Mr. Roy worked at IBM Research Division, where he was responsible for research directed to future-generation technology, including semiconductor devices, computer and peripheral hardware, materials, and manufacturing processes. Mr. Roy has held membership in industry and professional society boards, including Sematech and the American Vacuum Society, and has acted as an external project reviewer for the National Science Foundation.
Mr. Roy is a graduate of George Washington University Law School. Mr. Roy holds a Ph.D. in Solid State Science and a B.Sc. in Polymer Science, both from the Pennsylvania State University.
Mr. Roy is a member of the Maryland and District of Columbia Bars and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
